How to Draw a Simple Strawberry
The berry is a triangle with soft sides, wide at the top and almost pointed at the bottom. Leaves sit on the wide end. Seeds are the last marks, and they do not need to be even.
Materials Pencil, paper, eraser. A black pen is optional for the seeds if you want them darker than the outline.
Step 1
Draw the berry body: wide and slightly wavy across the top, narrowing to a soft point. Do not make a sharp geometric triangle. Curve the sides.
Step 2
Add the leafy cap. Three longer leaves and two shorter ones are enough. They overlap the top of the berry. They point up and out, not down the fruit.
Step 3
Add seed marks as tiny dashes, in loose rows that follow the curve of the berry. Skip the area under the leaves. Leave a little space near the point.
Step 4
Clean the outline. Erase leaf lines that cross the middle of the berry without belonging to a leaf. If two seeds collided, erase one. Darken the outer shape.
Finished
The finished berry is still that soft triangle. The leaves are a cap. The seeds are few.
A common miss
Seeds in a perfect grid look stamped on. Follow the curve, and let one row have fewer marks than the row above it.
One variation
Draw a second, smaller curve inside the berry to suggest a cut face, and put the seeds only on the outer half. Keep the leaves.
